How to Reset a User Password

You can start start the password reset process for another user in MJ Platform, or, if you can't remember your own password, you can use the "forgot password" link.

In this article:

Reset a Password for Another User

  1. Open the App Drawer, expand the People menu and click Users.

  2. Select a user, then click Modify User. This opens the User Account page.

  3. Ensure the email entered in the Email and Confirm Email fields are correct, then click Save and Reset at the bottom of the page. An email will be sent to the email address with the subject "Password Reset Request".

  4. Instruct the user to log into their email account and click Reset Password in their Password Reset Request email. This opens the Reset Password page.

    • They may need to wait up to five minutes to receive the email.

    • If the user still cannot find the email after five minutes, they may need to check their spam or junk folder.

  5. Instruct the user to enter the required information in the fields provided and then click Reset. Their password will be reset immediately.

    • The username they enter here must exactly match the one they use to log in to MJ Platform.

    • The new password must fulfill the Complexity Requirements listed on the page.

Alternative Password Reset Method

  1. Enter the username of the user whose password you want to reset.

    • The username entered here must exactly match the one used to log in to MJ Platform. If you don't know the exact username, follow steps 1 to 3 in the above procedure.

  2. Click Send Password Reset Email. An email is sent to the email address associated with the user account.

  3. Instruct the user to log into their email account and click Reset Password in their Password Reset Request email. This opens the Reset Password page.

    • They may need to wait up to five minutes to receive the email.

    • If the user still cannot find the email after five minutes, they may need to check their spam or junk folder.

  4. Instruct the user to enter the required information in the fields provided and then click Reset. Their password will be reset immediately.

    • The username they enter here must exactly match the one they use to log in to MJ Platform.

    • The new password must fulfill the Complexity Requirements listed on the page.
