This is the second step in handling outgoing inventory.
When you save a Sales Order without immediately marking the transfer as complete, it is saved with an order status of "ordered". Fulfill the Sales Order to create an associated Transfer. With a Transfer, you can track driver information, delivery status, and the actual amount of inventory transferred.
You can set the delivery status to "Completed" in this procedure to complete the Transfer right away (if the inventory has already reached its destination), or you can set a different status and come back to complete the Transfer later.
Open the App Drawer, expand the Supply Chain menu and click Sales Orders.
Select a Sales Order from the list and Click Fulfill Sales Order. This opens the Create Transfer page.
Fill out the fields in the Driver Information, Vehicle Information, and Destination sections at the top of the page.
In the Transfer Packages section, enter the package ID by either selecting the ID from the Package Id drop-down menu or clicking into the Scan field and scanning the barcode. This automatically populates the fields for the package.
If there are multiple packages, click the Add button.
Note: If you are operating in Utah, you cannot send multiple packages in one transfer. The amount requested must equal the amount in a single package.
In the Order Totals section, enter the date the Sales Order was fulfilled.
In the Transfer Status section, specify the current status of the Transfer:
Open: The inventory is awaiting delivery. You can edit the transfer details when this status is selected.
Out for Delivery: The inventory is in transit. If you save with this status selected, an inventory receipt is generated for the partner's facility to complete, and you will no longer be able to edit any of the Transfer details except for updating its transfer status.
Completed: The inventory has been delivered. Once the transfer is completed, both the Sales Order and this Transfer will be marked inactive for you.
Save your changes. The Sales Order is updated and the associated Transfer is created.
Click Save and Print Labels to save the Sales Order and its newly created Transfer, and open the Print window.
Click Save to save the Sales Order and its newly created Transfer without printing.
Note: Be sure to affix the labels to the packages before they leave the facility.
