How to Package Plants

You can package plants to convert them into sellable unit-based inventory.

Before you can complete this procedure, you must have the following prerequisites set up:

  • Product master for the packaged plants with the following properties:

    • Strain must be the same as the plants being packaged

    • If packaging plants that are in the propagation phase:

      • Product category must be Plants

      • Prepack option must be selected

    • If packaging plants that are in the vegetation or flowering phase:

      • Product category must be Flower

      • Prepack option must not be selected

  • Storage location for the packaged inventory

Packaging Plants

  1. Open the App Drawer and click Plants.

  2. Open the tab of the growth phase corresponding to the plants you want to package.

  3. Filter the list to find the plants you want to package:

    • If you have a scanner, you can filter the list by barcode. Click Scan Search, select a type of barcode to scan from the drop-down menu next to the search bar, then click into the search bar and scan the barcode.

    • If you are not using a scanner, ensure the Scan Search button is not selected, then enter any information about the plant into the search bar, such as its strain or plant type.

  4. Select the checkboxes in the list for each plant you want to package.

    • Note: All selected plants must be of the same strain.

    • Clicking the checkbox in the list header will select all plants on the current page.

    • When going to a new page in the results list, give the system a few seconds to load and populate the plant data for that page.
      Wait for the loading icon to disappear in the top-right part of the window.

  5. Click Package Plant(s).

  6. Select the appropriate information about the the packaging job in the fields provided.

    • The New Item drop-down menu only displays product masters whose inventory unit of measure is unit-based (EA) and whose strain matches the plants'.

  7. Complete the packaging job:

    • Click Save And Print Label to package the plants and open the Print window.

    • Click Package Plant(s) to package the plants and view the Lot ID for the package. You can then Print the the Lot ID if required.

  8. Click Exit Page to return to the Plant Listing page. The packaged plants are removed from this page, and the created package is displayed on the Inventory Listing page.
