Rewards allow you to have sales and promotions for specific products or entire product categories. This point-based feature allows all customers, or specific customer groups, to earn points when making purchases. The points can be redeemed for a percentage discount, or a cash value, that is applied to a line item or the entire purchase.

After configuring the general rewards settings, you can create individual rewards if you do not set points to be used as currency.

Open the App Drawer, expand the Facility Settings menu and click Settings (Advanced).

Click Rewards Setup.

Configure the settings in the Reward Value And Configuration section:

Customers earn points based on sales

Determines whether Rewards are enabled for your organization.

Points earned per dollar spent

The number of points a customer will earn for every dollar they spend. It can be an integer or decimal number.

Points may be earned on orders paid for with rewards

If set to Yes, then points are earned on any order. If set to No, points are earned only on orders where rewards were not used at all.

Points earned are calculated including tax

Determines whether point accumulation is calculated based on the subtotal or the total after tax.

When points are used as currency, what is a point worth?

If the checkbox is selected, points are always valued at the dollar amount entered into this field, and individual rewards are disabled.

Points are applied on the Payment page and treated similarly to a payment tender.

Points balance is set to zero after how many days between visits?

If the checkbox is selected, a customer's points balance is set to zero after the number of days entered into this field since their last purchase.

There is currently no option to have points expire after a set number of days the points were earned regardless of the last visit.

Configure the settings in the Reward Constraints section:

Select the checkbox for each product category customers can earn rewards points for purchasing.

Points are earned in the following customer/patient groups

Select the checkbox for each customer group eligible to accumulate points.

If you want all customers to be eligible, including those not in any customer group, leave all the checkboxes cleared.

Points are earned in the following order types

Select the checkbox for each queue customers can earn rewards points in.

Set the Rewards are applied as field to determine how tax is calculated when rewards are used.

  • Discount: Tax is calculated on the reduced subtotal rather than the original subtotal.

  • Cash Tender: Tax is calculated on the original subtotal rather than the reduced subtotal.

Set up the Reward Multiplier Periods, which are special time periods in which more points than usual are earned:

  1. Click Add Day and Time Window.

  2. Enter the properties of the multiplier period.

    • In the Points column, enter the multiplier. For example, enter "2" for double the points.

Save your setup:

  • Click Save to save the changes and return to the Advanced Settings page.

  • Click Save and Stay to save the changes and stay on the current page.
