Ingredients are used in assemblies and processes as part of the procedure of turning inventory into finished, sellable products.
Once an ingredient is created, you can track the quantity of it as it is used.
How to Create an Ingredient:
Open the App Drawer, expand the Facility Settings menu and click Ingredients.
Click Create Ingredients. This opens the Create Ingredients page.
Enter a unique name for the ingredient.
Set the ingredient category. You can either select one from the drop-down menu or type a new category.
Select the partner that supplies the ingredient.
If no partners are set up, click Create Supplier to open the Create Partner Profile page. From there, you can create the partner that will supply this ingredient. Once the partner is created, you will be returned to the Create Ingredients page.
Select a unit of measure from the UOM drop-down menu.
Select the EA, or "each", option for unit-based items.
Enter the cost per selected unit.
Click Save Ingredient. This creates the new ingredient, which will appear on the Ingredient Listing page on the tab of the category you selected for the ingredient.
