Issue
No tracking ID was given to inventory moved to another location.
Cause and Solution
If there is no tracking ID and also no package ID
In this case, there is an issue with the product master. Check that the We track this inventory checkbox is selected and the Track this item in lots checkbox is selected. If either is not selected, the product master is not set up to have package IDs and as a result may not properly receive BioTrack tracking IDs. You will need to create a new product master with the same properties as the current one but ensuring the two checkboxes are selected. Contact support for help on bringing in inventory for the new product master.
If there is no tracking ID but there are package IDs
On the inventory page, MJ Platform allows you to take some inventory from a package and move it to another storage location. This is called a quick move.
To perform the quick move, MJ Platform simply creates a new listing under the same package ID and the same batch ID, assigns the appropriate amount of inventory to it, and subtracts that amount from the original location. The new listing has the same batch and package ID as the original since there is no difference between the inventory other than storage location.
However, BioTrack does not allow the same tracking ID to be assigned to more than one location, so MJ Platform sends an API call to BioTrack in the background to get a new tracking ID for the moved inventory.
When the API call succeeds, you will see a new tracking ID for the moved inventory.
If the API call fails, MJ Platform will not receive a new tracking ID, so the moved inventory will not have one.
If this happens, do not use the moved inventory. Create a support ticket so that our team can help you fix the issue.
