Check in a patient to add them to a queue. Once they're checked in, you'll be able to find them on the Queue page and begin to process their order when they're ready. See Retail Point of Sale Workflow for more information.

Note: If you are operating in Pennsylvania, see the Pennsylvania check-in guide. If you are operating in Utah, see the Utah check-in guide.

Checking in a Patient

Note: For new patients, you must create a patient profile for them before you can check them in. Alternatively, you can start an anonymous order if the setting is enabled and your jurisdiction allows it.

  1. Open the App Drawer and click Check-In.

  2. Enter information about the patient in the fields provided. The more information you provide, the narrower the search results will be.

    • If you have a 2D barcode scanner with EZ DL set up, you can click Scan License to scan the patient's license and automatically fill in some of the fields.

  3. Click Filter. This displays all patients whose information matches your search criteria.

    • If no results were found, check for typos and try again.

    • If the patient is new, you must create a patient profile for them before you can check them in.

  4. Scroll to the patient's entry in the search results and click Check-In to open the Check-In window.

    • If the Check-In button is not displayed for the patient, then they are already checked in.

  5. Enter the optional information in the fields provided and click Save to check in the patient and add them to the queue. The buttons on the patient's preview card change to display relevant actions.

  6. Optionally, click one of the action buttons on the patient's preview card:

    • Store Queue: View the queue of patients checked in to the store.

    • Start Order: Start an order for this patient by going to the Product Menu page.

    • Fast Track: Jump to the Cart page for the patient, where you can scan items in.

    • Cancel: Remove the patient from the queue.
