As of July 10th, 2023, solo*TAGs are no longer required for use in Utah, and this page has been deprecated. For more information about changes made to solo*TAGs, please visit our knowledge base article here.

To support requirements for the State of Utah, MJ Platform enforces Solo*TAGs for Utah grower and processor facilities.

Solo*TAGs provide a unique image on your Plant labels and Package labels. Using the Solo application on your mobile device, you can scan the "solo*TAG" image on your labels, which will activate those scanned item in MJ Platform, and will return specific data about the item that was scanned in your solo* application on your mobile device.

Setting up your solo*TAG plant labels

Step 1

Navigate to Facility Settings > Labels Manager.

Step 2

You will see a new 3 x 1 default label titled, “solo*TAG Plant Label.”

Step 3

Select this label to edit and configure the specific label settings as normal. This label will include the specific solo*TAG, or “Quasar” image that can be scanned using the solo* application on your mobile device.

User Account – Unique ID

To verify the user that is scanning plants and packages with a solo*TAGS, you can create a User Key for each user that will be verified by the solo* application.

Step 1

Navigate to Users under the Advanced Settings page.

Step 2

Modify or Create a User account.

Step 3

You will see a new field titled, “Authentication Key.” Below the “Authentication Key” field there is a button titled “Generate Key.” Click the button called “Generate Key” and it will randomly generate and assign a unique 13-digit key for that user.

Step 4

Click Save or Save and Reset.

Note: When logging in to your solo* application, you will need to enter this key for verification.

Mature Plant activation for solo*TAGs

Before you conduct any modifications for mature plants in MJ Platform including changing phases, destroying mature plants, packaging mature plants, or harvesting mature plants, you must first flag those plants as needing activation, and then activate the solo*TAGS through your solo* application.

Step 1

Select plants from either the Vegetation phase or the Flowering phase and click on Plant Modification.

Step 2

You will see a new drop-down menu titled, “Needs Solo*TAG Activation” with the ability to select either:

A) Yes – If selected, these plants will be flagged in the system as “Needs Activation”

a. To complete the activation of your plants, you will then need to scan the solo*TAGS for these plants with your Solo application on your mobile device to activate them.

B) No – If selected, these plants will be cleared and will not need activation through the solo* application.

C) No Change – This means the current values will remain the same for the selected plants.

Click “Modify Group” after filling out all required fields.

Step 3

If you attempt to modify, package, destroy, or harvest mature plants (in the Vegetation phase or Flowering phase) in MJ Platform that do not have an active solo tag, or the “Needs solo*TAG Activation” status is blank, you will receive the error message, “Mature plants must have Tracking ID proceeding.”

· To resolve the error, you must update the status of the “Needs solo*TAG Activation” to Yes, remove the “Change Growth Phase” selection, and you must scan the solo*TAGS for those plants in order to activate those plants and assign a Tracking ID to those plants.

solo*TAG display on Plant Listing page

To easily view which mature plants have an active solo*TAG, we have added a new column on the Plant listing page for mature plants.

Step 1

Navigate to the Plant listing page and select either the Vegetation phase, or the Flowering phase.

You will see a new column titled, “solo*TAG.”

Step 3

If a plant has an active solo*TAG, the specific tag for that plant will display in this column.

Note: If a plant does not have a solo*TAG, the message, “Needs Activation” will display in this column.

Activating plants in your solo* application that are pending activation

Step 1 – Home Screen

Open the solo* application on your mobile device. This will display the home screen:

The user is instructed to go into the Leaf System to activate the inventory and then return to the app or go to check a solo*TAG by using the scanner icon. From this page the user can go to the following screens:

Activate Packages: Packages ready to be processed will be displayed on this screen.

Activate Plants: Plants ready to be activated will be displayed on this screen.

News Feed: A list of news articles will be displayed on this page.

Step 2 – Activate Plant List Screen

· On this screen the user can see a list of groups of plants to be activated.

· On each line/group the product Batch ID, Strain and quantity of the group will be displayed.

· By using the back arrow the user will brought to the Home screen.

· By clicking on the Product Name of the group the user will be brought to the Select Plants to Activate screen.

Step 3 - Select Plants List Screen –

· Access this screen by selecting a line/group of plants listed on the Activate Plants List screen. On this screen the user will be able to select the individual plants of a group to be activated. A user may select all or any amount of plants of a group to be activated.

· The user will select the radio button(s) next to the individual items listed or using a "Select All" button.

· The list of plants will be shown with the Product Name, Global ID number & Plant ID number.

· The user may use the back arrow to return to the Activate Plant List screen.

· Once the selection has been finalized, the user will click the "Select" button and be brought to the Activate Plants screen where they can complete the activation process.

Step 4 - Activate Plants

· Users are brought to the Activate Plants screen after they’ve made their selection of plants to activate.

· To start the activation, process the user must click the ACTIVATE PACKAGES button.

· The user will then be brought to the Scan First Plant screen to start the scanning process that associates the solo*Tags with the selected products.

Step 5 - Scan First Plant

· On the scan First Plant screen the user is instructed to scan the first solo* TAG that will be associated with the first plant in their list.

· A user needs to put the scanner over solo*TAG and it will recognize the quasar.

· Once recognition has occurred the user will be brought to the Scan Last Plant screen.

Step 6 - Scan Last Plant

· Once a user is brought to the Scan Last Plant screen, they will see the bolded checkmark that indicates that the first scan has been completed.

· The screen instructs the user to scan the solo*TAG that will be associated with the last plant in their list.

· Once the user scans the solo*TAG and recognition occurs the user will be brought to the Scan Completed screen.

Step 7 - Scan Completed

· The user can finish the plant tag activation process from the Scan Completed screen.

· Once the user sees that both the First and Last checkmark icons are bolded on the screen, they may select NEXT to finish the process.

· Once the user selects NEXT they will be brought to the Plant Activation Completed screen.

Step 8 - Scan Completed

· The Plant Activated Completed screen is what a user sees when they have finished the plant tag activation process.

· A message confirming the process is finished is displayed along with inventory information.

· The user can select DONE to close the screen and return to the home screen.

Fetching plant data with the Solo Application

Step 1

Open your solo* application on your mobile device and scan the Quasar image for a plant(s) label.

Step 2

For plants that have an assigned solo*TAG, the solo* application on your mobile device will return the following information:

· Plant ID

· Batch ID

· Strain

solo*TAGs visible in Plant History

Any plant(s) with a solo*TAG will be will display the actual solo*TAG in the plant details section when viewing Plant History:

Step 1

Navigate to Plant Listing page and click History

Step 2

View the history for that package, including the solo*TAG.
