This process happens in two phases:

Splitting the Sample off of the Source Package

  1. Open the App Drawer, expand the Inventory menu and click the stage your inventory is in.

  2. [get click_batch_to_expand_row]

  3. Select the checkbox of the package the sample comes from then click Split Package.

  4. Enter the information about the split package:

    • Quantity to Use: Enter the exact quantity to be sent for testing.

    • Select Location: Select the storage location the package will stay while awaiting transport.

    • Solo Tag Activation: Set this to Yes.

    • Modification Date: Enter the date you split the package.

  5. Click Save.

Creating the Sales Order for Sending the Sample

  1. Open the App Drawer, expand the Supply Chain menu and click Create Sales Order.

  2. Enter the general information about the Sales Order:

    • Order Type: Select Lab Partner.

    • Partner Name: Select the lab organization receiving the sample.

    • Partner Facility: Select the facility within the organization receiving the sample.

  3. In the Order Items section, select the sample package from the Item drop-down menu.

    • You can start typing the name of the package into the field to filter the drop-down menu.

  4. Set the Total # of Units to 1.

  5. Finish the Sales Order in one of the following ways:

    • Click Complete Transfer to create the Sales order and immediately go to the Transfer page.

    • Click Save to create the Sales Order. You can start the Transfer later.

  6. Create and save the Transfer (starting from step 4 if you immediately went to the Transfer page).

    • Set the Transfer Status to Open.

    • Note: Do not add additional packages to the Transfer.

  7. When the driver arrives to pick up the sample, change the Transfer Status to Out for Delivery.

    • Note: Ensure that there are labels on the package being sent out.
