When creating a Product Master, the Product Master name is now automatically generated using the new taxonomy rules. This ensures consistent naming across the platform and reduces manual errors.
How Product Master Names Are Built
The final Product Master Name is composed automatically using the following attributes:
Brand
Entered Product Name
Package Size (Medicated Net Weight)
Doses Per Package
These values are appended based on the product’s category and Sales UOM.
You only need to enter the base product name during creation. The system will format and complete the Product Master name upon saving.
Display Name vs. Product Master Name
Product Master Name
This is system-generated and follows the taxonomy rules outlined above. It cannot be overridden.Display Name
The Display Name retains exactly what you initially enter on the Product Master creation page.
It is not modified by taxonomy rules and can be used for:Internal Menu (POS) Display
Reporting and Analytics
Internal SOPs
This allows users to maintain a simpler or more customized name for internal processes while maintaining standardized naming conventions for patients and state oversight.
Naming Format
The naming format of your Product is dependent upon the Category and Unit of Measure (UOM) you select:
Flower / Concentrate - GR UOM
Format: Brand | Product Name
Example Taxonomized Name: "Greenoso™ | Bulk Buds"
Flower / Concentrate / Cartridges & Pens - EA UOM
Format: Brand | Product Name: Medicated Net Weight | # THC MG per dose - # THC MG per package | # CBD MG per dose - # CBD MG per package
Example Taxonomized Names:
Greenoso™ | Prepack Flower: 3.5 GR | 35 doses per package | 20 THC MG per dose - 700 THC MG per package | 5 CBD MG per dose - 175 CBD MG per package
Greenoso™ | Cartridge: 500 MG | 50 doses per package | 8 THC MG per dose - 400 THC MG per package | 0.50 CBD MG per dose - 25 CBD MG per package

Important Notes
The Product Master Name is system-generated and standardized based on the defined taxonomy rules. Manual overrides are not supported.
The Display Name remains fully user-defined and is not modified by the taxonomy logic.
All dose-related values included in the Product Master Name are derived from structured product fields and cannot be entered as free text.
This naming behavior applies only to Product Masters created after this update. Existing Product Masters are not affected.
